Green Sea Floyds Coach Named Cross Country Coach of the Year

Congratulations to Phyllis Elvington! Our Green Sea Floyds High coach has been named the 2025 1A Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year by the South Carolina Track and Cross Country Coaches Association!

ACT and SAT Opportunity for Juniors

All 11th grade students are being offered the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT at GSFHS during the regular school day at no cost in the spring 2026 semester. The ACT will be offered on March 4, 2026 and the SAT will be offered on March 17, 2026. The State Department of Education (SCDE) will be paying for ONE assessment per student this year. However, students must sign up in advance in order to take one of these tests.

Students can take additional assessments on the weekend at a cost to the student by registering on College Board or ACT's website.

Attention: Juniors Interested in Welding or Cyber Security

Rising seniors that are interested in the Welding or Cyber Security Program at HGTC for the 2026-2027 School Year need to contact Mrs. Dixon in the Counseling Office.

Cyber Security and Welding Tour are scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026.

Coffee and Conversations with Cliff

Mr. Clifford Jones, Superintendent of Horry County Schools, will be holding “Coffee and Conversation with Cliff” events throughout the school year.

The events will both consist of informal listening sessions and discussions. Everyone is invited, and no registration or appointment is needed. Come to any event that meets your schedule.

Green Sea Floyds Boys Cross Country Claim Class A State Title

Congratulations to the Green Sea Floyds High Boys Cross Country Team! The Trojans ran Friday, November 14 at the Aiken Steeplechase and won the Class A State Championship!
